PowerBook on the IRL

In many sports if your player(s) is injured then that person is usually placed on the "injured reserved list". This denotes that the player is unable to play due to physical injury. Well, my Apple PowerBook is current on the IRL due to 'blocked female power receptacle. Yes, I dropped the PB and it landed on the power connection while the cable was attached. It broke the male pin and left the tip lodged in the female receptacle. Of course it will not come out. Looks like I'll be going in for surgery.

This was somewhat difficult as I did not have any tool capable of grabbing the tip since the opening was extremely small.  In any case it always seems the simplest of tools will get the job done.  However, for removal of the tip I had to first open up the laptop by removing the upper cover/keyboard.  This was amazingly simple compared to my wife's iBook.  Then, I was able to use a straightened paperclip and push the tip out from the inside.  Grabbed an extra power supply and I was up and running again.  Remember, simple is better.
